The dome shape provides stability for patients in the prone or lateral position. Designed to protect the skin from shear and friction, the Ankle Strap Stirrups are used in procedures in the lithotomic position. These pads are wrapped around lithotomy poles to protect a patient's skin from shear due to contact with the poles.
